On Saturday, November 15th, 2008, at 8:30 AM, in preparation for the Discgracelands Doubles event at Kennett you're invited to a course appreciation day to make sure the doubles players from around the region that make the annual pilgrimage to the Discgracelands gain the same appreciation we have for our course. On tap are further clearing on long hole 4, reinstalling short 5, clearing long 6, finishing the spreading of chips on 4 and 9. Clearing long tee for 11, and finally getting our last short concrete tee pad in place for hole 13. Please plan to be there and show your love for the course. Kennett Square Disc Club Logo

NOTE: Bill, the park manager, has agreed to help us with the moving of the 2 concrete tees, holes 13 and 8! So we'll finally have all 18 short concrete tees in place.

Also, time permitting, we need to finalize the positions of the long tees as well as the few remaining long pin positions, hole 8 in particular.

I'll be bringing a tub o' coffee from Dunkin Donuts. Feel free to bring other refreshments.

Anson B Nixon Disc Golf Course Rules:

Be courteous to other park users.
Do not break or damage any living plants or animals.
Leave the course/park cleaner than you found it.
Completely on and across paths and roads is Out of Bounds.
Completely on or across streams is Out of Bounds.
vOutside fence on holes #13 and #14 are Out of Bounds.
Mandatory Dog Legs on holes #2, #4, #6, #9, #10, #18.
Sports fields are Out of Bounds when in use.

Yesterday Josaih and I cleared 80% of the new long fairway for hole 4 at Kennett. It took about 4 hours to get to where it is now and certainly there is more clearing of thorns and downed trees to do. We played the hole 4 times in a row; the first three I took a 4 and Josiah had a 7, 6, and 5. The 4th time we played doubles best disc and got a 3.

Though the hole is only about 425 feet it is a par 4. Any 3 will feel like a nice birdy. We hope you like it, and ask that you put any energy you feel towards the rough into helping out by pushing it further back.

Seen below in RED is our current layout. Some of the hole in BLUE are in place as well. The Squares Disc Golf Club has made some big changes this past year since the part decided to eliminate hole 15 through 18 to make way for an evironmentally friendly walkway. Thankfully the park has worked with the disc golf community to replace these four hole by allowing us to install new holes. While much of the work is done, the Squares Disc Golf Club will continue to work to make this course beginner friendly and also challenging for the season player as well.

Tuesday Evening Doubles!!

As the sun sets earlier and earlier every week, the Squares will be starting doubles earlier as well. If you are planning to come to play doubles, please take note that we will be drawing at 5:45 pm. Be there or be not so SQUARE!!!

Come on out to our work day and help get the course ready for our first Squares Monthly on Sunday! Work will go from 9:00 AM to around 4:00 PM. Wear work cloths and bring gloves and a rake, shove, and clippers if you have them.
