A seasoably overcast sky greeted the challengers today.Tag #2 was re-introduced into the mix.The six hearty souls included Nick,Randy,Brent,Josiah,Dan and Ray.Brent and Ray carded 3's on the long #1 and held the tee box for a few holes until Randy and Nick got their games together.

April Monthly Pro/Am Tournament

Sunday April 19th, 2009

The Squares will be hosting our first monthly tournament of 2009 on Sunday April 19th. Registration starts at 9am. Tee time is 10am sharp. Entry fee is $10 for all divisions. Ace pot is $1 and an ace pays $50! We will play two rounds of 18 holes. All AMs get a free mini disc! This is a casual tournament for all skill levels. We welcome new players who would like to test their skills against other players. This also gives newer players a chance to pick up a few pointers from other players. Come on out and play!

Cheif wins 2nd Monthly! Greg Ramirez put together two solid rounds to win the second monthly of the year. I've been playing DG for nearly 30 years and I don't think the weather has ever been worse than it was last Saturday for our second Monthly Squares. We stuck it out and finished the last two tournament rounds ever on the old course, as the course has moved to it's new home in the woods behind the pavillions. More details to follow.

The Squares Disc Golf Club held the first monthly of 2008 on Sunday at Anson B Nixon Park, in Kennett Square on Sunday Feb. 17th.

We hosted 12 players for this informal little tournament. Entry fee was $10 and another Super Pot entry for Pros of $10 also. Ace pot option was $1. Six players were in for the pro division and all were in for the Super Pot. We also has 6 Am players which included one women player, Trish. Marc Schottle took the pro division with a 98 score and took home $80. Paul Wharton took second place. In the Am division, Tom Poplawski shot 105 and took home some nice plastic. Tom also nailed an ace on hole 11 (current 10) and took home what was left of last years Double Squares Ace Pot of $50! Way to go Tom!! Randy Kirkner took second place as he comtinues to improve his game! Trish was our only women to show and she didn't leave empty handed either. Good job Trish! Full results to come soon.
