Kennett Square Discs Club - SQUARES

E-mail Print PDF

Founded March 4th, 2006 the Kennett Square Discs Club is a group of volunteers dedicating to improving the course and disc golf activities as well as building a healthy and mutually beneficial relationship with parks and people of Kennett Square and surrounding townships.

Kennett Square Discs Club

In the time since our inception we've run 3 Throw To Know charity events, 3 Kennett Square Open events, 5 or so Monthly Squares and countless Double Squares. We've worked regularly at improving the course through tee, fairway and pin improvements. And we have an ever improving relationship with the KennPark and Maintenance Crew at Anson. There is a lot left to do and we invite you to be a part of it by watching our calendar for work days, or just coming to a doubles or monthly event.

Newsflash

The chain and basket hardware from baskets on holes 12 and 14 have been stolen from Anson B. Nixon Park! Between Friday 5/16/2008 and Saturday morning the basket hardware, chain assembly and basket tray assemblies of holes 12 and 14 were stolen leaving only the bare poles in the anchor. If you saw anything suspicious or have any information concerning this please email me at nickkight@hotmail.com.

Our club is not a wealthy one, neither is the park, so this is a major blow to our efforts to promote disc golf. With the Throw To Know, a charity event for the Autism Society of America-Greater Philadelphia Chapter, coming up on July 12, we are in a real bind. Please do your best to ask around and help us get this very import hardware back. If you see it turn up in a buddies yard, a course near you, or anywhere please encourage those responsible to return the parts; we'll accept them no questions asked.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't understand how folks, especially disc golf folks, could be ignorant to all the hard work and effort the Squares have put into this course and do something like this ... Very disappointing.
